German
Chamomile (Matricaria Recutita), is traditionally used to
promote calm and to soothe nervous tension. Its active ingredients include
volatile oil, flavonoids, valerianic acid, coumarins, tannins, salicylates and
cyanogenic glycosides. Indicated for insomnia, anxiety, menopausal depression, loss of appetite, dyspepsia,
diarrhea, colic, aches and pains of 'flu, migraine, neuralgia, teething, vertigo, motion sickness, conjunctivitis, inflamed skin, urticaria any many other uses... Chamomile is probably the most widely used relaxing nervine herb in the western world. It relaxes and tones the nervous system, and is especially valuable where anxiety and tension produce digestive symptoms such as gas, colic pains or even ulcers. As an anti-spasmodic herb, it can prevent or ease cramps in the muscles, such as leg or abdomen. As the essential oil added to a bath, it relaxes the body after a hard day whilst easing the cares and weight of a troubled heart and mind. Being rich in essential oil, it acts on the digestive system, promoting proper function. This usually involves soothing the walls of the intestines, easing griping pains and helping the removal of gas. It is an effective anti-inflammatory remedy internally for the digestive and respiratory system as well as externally on the skin. A cup of hot Chamomile tea is a simple, effective way of relieving indigestion, calming inflammations such as gastritis and helping prevent ulcer formation. Using the essential oil as a steam inhalation will allow the same oils to reach inflamed mucus membranes in the sinuses and lungs. Chamomile is a mild anti-microbial, helping the body to destroy or resist pathogenic micro-organisms. As an anti-catarrhal it helps the body remove excess mucus buildup in the sinus area. It may be used in head colds and allergy reactions such as
hay fever. Taken by mouth or used as an enema it is particularly helpful in colitis and irritable bowel syndrome. A fascinating recent German study demonstrated the efficacy of chamomile on the healing of wounds caused by tattooing. Clinical and laboratory research demonstrates it will reduce inflammation, colic pain and protect against ulcer formation in the whole of the digestive tract.

tract, Zinziber boosts digestive fluids and neutralises acids, making it an
effective alternative to anti-nausea medication, but without the usual
unpleasant side effects. Zinziber has strong anti-inflammatory and pain

Gingerol, the
active compound in Ginger is valued for its cardio-tonic properties. In a
potent 4:1 ratio extract form, concentrated levels of Gingerol stimulate
peripheral circulation to the extremities resulting in a warming effect on the
testicles and improved functioning of penile muscles. Elevated quantities
of Gingerol serve as an effective stress neutralizer by helping to reduce high
blood pressure and cholesterol while improving appetite and digestion and
relieving nausea. Ayurvedic practitioners also rely on Ginger as a
"carrier" herb that enables other herbs to react more effectively in
the body.

elevator in the treatment of depression. Active ingredients include flavone

increases sex drive and virility. Laboratory studies have found that
Gokshura increases sperm count after being taken for 30 days and can result in
better than 50% increase in testosterone levels. This herb also has a
stimulating effect on the liver by helping to convert cholesterol and fats into
hormones and energy. When this action is combined with the increase in
testosterone levels which promote protein synthesis, positive nitrogen balance
as well as faster recuperation and recovery from muscular stress, Gokshura has a
tremendous positive impact on strength and stamina.

Guarana (Paulina cupana) is a nervine tonic and stimulant which boosts energy
levels. Guarana has been used as an appetite suppressant, smoking cessation aid,
as a stimulant, for pain relief, and commercially as a flavoring in soft drinks.
The first record of the use of Guarana dates all the way back to 1669! It was
this year that a Jesuit missionary named J. Felipe Betendorf visited an area
deep in the Amazon Basin where the Mau Indians were found using it as a daily
tonic/stimulant. These Indians and the white settlers who lived with them lauded
the beverage for its ability to ward off headaches, relieve cramps and fevers,
and as an aphrodisiac. Maybe most responsible for its popularity was the belief
by these people that their daily usage helped to prevent malaria and dysentery.
It is still consumed today for all of these reasons.

Gugulipid
is an extract of Commiphora mukul, the gum resin of the mukul myrrh tree. It is
a highly prized and well known Ayurvedic herb, used for hundreds of years in the
treatment of obesity and arthritis. Recent studies have shown that gugulipid can
be even more effective than many prescription medications in lowering
cholesterol and tryglyceride levels in the blood. (between 14 and 27% reduction
in cholesterol levels over a 12 week period) Even more importantly, gugulipid
has also been shown to increase levels of protective HDL cholesterol. Other
studies have demonstrated that regular use of gugulipid has helped to prevent
the build up of plaque in the arteries and even to reverse the build up of
existing plaque. It also prevents blood platelets from sticking together,
thereby reducing the risk of blood clots, which often cause heart attacks.
Gugulipid has powerful anti-oxidant properties, thereby providing protection and
