Acidophilus
is a "good bacteria" that has been shown to be beneficial in treatment of
Acne, cystitis, ear infections, gastrointestinal disorders, osteoporosis, vaginitis,
yeast infections and boosts your immune
response; helping the body to ward off
offending viruses and bacteria. Antibiotics kill acidophilus.
You can begin taking Acidophilus while on antibiotics, but you need to continue
treatment for at least one month after you finish your antibiotic course for
complete replacement. Acidophilus is found naturally in unpasturized
yogurts.

Potato Extract (Hypoxis Rooperi). Traditionally
used to strengthen the immune system, treat testicular tumors,
prostate hypertrophy and urinary infections. The activity of
Hypoxis Rooperi against BPH is ascribed to phytosterol glycosides,
mainly B-sytosterol. Hypoxis contains phytosterols and Sterolins,
which help to modulate the effect of the immune system and enhance
its performance. Also used as a convalescent and as a
strengthening tonic in the treatment of 'wasting diseases' like
TB, AIDS and cancer.

Agothosma
betulina (buchu)
is a urinary antiseptic and possesses diuretic properties. Buchu has been used
by the natives of the Western Cape of Southern Africa for many centuries. Early
Dutch settlers used buchu to make a brandy tincture and Boegoebrandewyn (buchu
brandy) is still used today to treat many disorders.

Agrimony
(Agrimonia eupatoria Rosaceae) - Agrimony is used in one role or another to treat problems in the gastro-intestinal / digestive system. Specific indications and uses include:
diarrhea, mucous colitis, appendicitis, indigestion, general alimentary weakness, hepatic weakness, enuresis, leucorrhoea,
rheumatism & arthritis, deep soreness or tenderness over the kidneys, Sharp cutting deep-seated pain, with general distress in the lumbar region, Inflammation in the urinary system and urinary incontinence, erysipelas, chronic bronchitis and asthma, consumption, excessive mucous discharges, leucorrhoea, gastritis, colitis, proctitis, ulcerative stomatitis, dysmenorrhoea, uterine congestion and cystic inflammation, urinary incontinence and
cystitis.
As a gargle it is beneficial in the relief of sore throats and laryngitis. As an ointment it will aid the healing of wounds and bruises. The infusion has been used clinically with some success in cutaneous
porphyria.

Alfalfa

Alfalfa tea is commonly used as a beverage; it is also used

because it is an excellent diuretic, promoting urination and helping to rid the
body of bad bacteria. The leaves of the alfalfa plant help reduce

Aloe
vera -Aloe is one of the great healing agents among the herbs. There are
some 600 species of Aloe but the most popular medical variety is Aloe vera. Excellent
for kitchen or minor burns, some people keep aloe plants at home for a readily
available source of treatment for burns and other wounds. The fresh leaves of
the aloe can be split to expose the gelatinous juice and then rubbed on the skin
for sunburn, wrinkles, headache, insect bites, skin irritations, and minor cuts,
ulcers, sores, herpes, jaundice, bursitis, canker sores, sore gums, and
scratches. The fresh juice is also said to help heal wounds by preventing or
drawing out infection, and for poison ivy.
Aloes are used widely for their moisturizing and softening properties and are
used in treatment of skin conditions such as eczama.
Amla
- Emblica Officinalis
This fruit is one of the richest natural sources of vitamin C, containing up to
720 mg of vitamin C per 100 g of fresh pulp and 921 mg per 100 cc of pressed
juice. This is approximately 20 times the vitamin C content of an orange.
It also contains a Cytokin-like constituent comprised of Zeatin, Zriboside,
Znucleotide, and Tannins 30%. These naturally occurring substances improve
mental and physical well being.

Aniseed
(Pimpinella anisum Umbelliferae) - Indicated for Intestinal colic and flatulence, flatulent
colic of infants, and to remove nausea. It also has an expectorant and anti-spasmodic action and may be used in bronchitis, in tracheitis where there is persistent irritable coughing, and in whooping cough.
Externally, the oil may be used in an ointment base for the treatment of scabies. The oil by itself will help in the control of lice.

(archangelica Umbelliferae) - Used as an expectorant for coughs, bronchitis and pleurisy.
Also used for rheumatic
inflammations, cystitis, intestinal
colic, flatulence, and to stimulate appetite. The leaf can be used as a compress in inflammations of the chest. Angelica is used frequently as a flavoring; in
liquors such as chartreuse and benedictine, in gin and vermouth; the leaves as a garnish or in salads; and the candied stalks in cakes and pudding.

Arctium
lappa is used naturopathically for the treatment of all chronic skin
conditions, including acne, eczema, psoriasis and canker sores. It has even been
used by traditional healers to treat snake bite. Its antibiotic and

Gingerol, the
active compound in Ginger is valued for its cardio-tonic properties. In a

Ashwagandha

Studies show that it reduces anxiety
and is used in treatment of ADD,
bolsters the immune system, and relieves the pain and swelling associated with
inflammation and may relieve the symptoms of arthritis. Ashwagandha is also a
well-known aphrodisiac, touted for its ability to enhance sex drive and improve
erectile function. Recommended in the ancient Kama
Sutra for heightening sexual experience, Ashwaganda is an "adaptogenic"
herb which nourishes nerves and improves nerve function to help your body adapt
to stress, one of the common cause of sexual problems. Ashwagandha has
been used for thousands of year to treat impotence, premature ejaculation,
infertility, and erection disorders.

Aspalathus
linearis (Rooibos)
is an indigenous shrub, which grows exclusively on the slopes of the Cedarberg
mountains in the Western Cape province of South Africa and has been used by
traditional healers of the area for centuries. Now known worldwide for its
anti-oxidant and healing properties, the soothing and healing effect of Rooibos
on the skin is remarkable. It is an extremely nutritious herb, containing
Vitamin C, Alphahydroxy Acid, potassium, copper, magnesium, calcium, iron,
zinc, manganese and fluoride. Rooibos can help to control blood sugar
levels, lower blood pressure and enhance immune
functioning. Many children with ADHD symptoms suffer from

production. The origin of Asparagus Adscendens famous in Ayurveda as
Safed Musli can be traced back in the oldest mountain ranges on the
continent, the Aravalis from where it spread to the other sub-continents
of India. About 4000 years ago Ashwini Kumars, the divine physician
brothers prepared the 'Chyawanprash' with one of the ingredients being
Asparagus Adscendens for 'Chyavan Rishi' who married at the age of 80
years. This goes well with the Ayurvedic application of Mushali as a
rejuvenator of sexual desire.

Shatavari
- Asparagus Racemosus
Shatavari is a rejuvenating herb that soothes the body to relieve stress,
nurtures the reproductive system, and strengthens and nourishes tissues.
It supports proper liver function and metabolic processes to remove toxins from
the blood. This herb is also known to increase Sattwa, or positivity and
healing power. It enhances the feelings of spiritual love and opens Ojas
